Inspired and built by artists and artisans, Shambala Silang has dedicated spaces and activities to preserve, promote, celebrate and educate about indigenous and local arts and crafts. Shambala’s in-house gallery, Tawid Gallery, features indigenous as well as contemporary art, produced by talented local artists from all over the archipelago.
Aside from our indoor art displays, you can always discover art in unexpected places within the property. A few steps from the gallery is Singkaban Bar built by Bulacan artisans in the tradition of the Singkaban decorated bamboo arch. It was made using bamboo grown at Shambala Silang. Walking around the garden, you will undoubtedly encounter stone works and fertility symbols sculpted by craftsmen from the Cordilleras. As you go down the steps, behold the terraced slopes supported on foundations of rip-rapped tuffaceous stones that form around the heart of Shambala Silang, the Dap-ay. Like the Dap-ays of the Cordilleras, this circular stone structure is both a stage for cultural events and a place for social gathering where guests can light a bonfire to roast food or keep warm in the cold nights of Silang.
